Land Tax

This is a State tax on land. Generally you do not pay land tax on your permanent place of residence. You pay land tax on investment properties. Land tax is a charge on the land and if there is a charge payable by the vendor it will need to be adjusted on settlement so that the new owner does not inherit any land tax debt.
